Congratulations on LGPE

Congratulations to all of our students who play in orchestra at the mountain!

Each of our 3 groups received an overall highest rating of “Superior” at LGPE!  Hard work at  home and in class has certainly paid off for our students.  The discipline and hard work has shown positive results not only in the adjudicator ratings, but also in the growth and development of musicianship for our individual students.   I’m extremely proud of our orchestra students.  Go Mustangs!

Hollywood Orchestra Concert

3rd Annual Hollywood Orchestra Night, Thursday 10/26

A message to McClure Middle School and Pine Mountain Middle School Students….

Greetings from Kennesaw Mountain!  My name is Joel Schroter, and I am the KMHS orchestra director.  We are so excited to see and hear your young musicians for our 3rd annual Hollywood Orchestra Concert!  My students have been looking forward to hosting our 2 primary feeder schools, Pine Mountain and McClure.  Between the 3 schools, we will have over 400 students performing!!!

We have some great music in store for you, and we are also anticipating some great costumes!   I wanted to take a minute to communicate several logistics with you.  Please read below.   Thank you for supporting your daughters and sons in their pursuit of orchestral music.  See you on Thursday!

  • The concert starts at 7PM on Thursday, 10/26/17 in the Kennesaw Mountain Gymnasium.
  • Students should report at 6:15PM and not earlier. (We need AMPLE time to set up the gym, so please do not arrive before 6:15PM)
  • The concert will be finished by approximately 8PM.
  • Parking: When you enter the KMHS parking lot, take the circle to the LEFT (tennis court) side of the building. Travel to the area halfway between the building and the football stadium.
  • Entrance:  You will see some HS orchestra students in costumes who will help direct you into the proper entrances.  Student performers will be directed toward their own entrance, while Family/Friends will enter through the main gym lobby.
  • Costumes:  The theme of our concert is “Hollywood.”  Students are encouraged (but not required) to wear costumes.  We will have several prizes to give to our favorite costumes.  Costumes should be school-appropriate, and nothing offensive or graphic please.
  • Equipment: Please remember to label all cases, shoulder rests, rock stops, etc.   With so many students performing, it is easy to get items mixed up without a label.
  • 6th Grade- Bring Folding Music Stand:  We are asking that all 6th grade students who own their own music stand please bring your stand with you if you need one.
